Yesterday was Valentines Day... a day that is meant to represent love, flowers, candy, encaouragement, etc. I am single and didn't have a special someone to celebrate exclusively with, just like every other year. This year I had many special someones to celebrate with, not like any other year.
The holiday fell on a Monday, so I spent most of it at work. This was the first day Chris was back from his vacation in Florida. We all were so eager to have him back as he isn't just our coworker but a close friend of ours. So the gang was back together again at work, and to my suprise Chris brought us gifts from Florida and for Valentines Day. **I love unexpected gifts. They literally are my favorite things in the world!!** He gave everyone these small shark teeth he found on the beach in Florida, and then got Anne and me candy :) it was very nice of him. I got one of those heart boxes of chocolate and then peanut MnMs (which is my favorite chocolate candy).
I don't know if it was Chris being back or the unexpected gift or just the fact that it was Valentines Day, but everyone here was in such a good mood! We were having a lot of fun, making jokes, giving compliments, just encouraging stuff. And then I got home...
Last week, I came home after a long day at work and Katelynn had decorated the dining room with streamers, ribbons, hearts and flowers! It was soooo cute and encouraging to come home to. Monday, I came home to our wonderfully decorated dining room, even more decorated! The table was extended and all set for an elaborate meal with napkins in the wine glasses and little Valentines Day cards at each setting. All Katelynn's doing. She made us spaghetti and meatballs, with salad and bread, and some yummy wine. As an apartment (minus Chantel but then plus Brianna Colby) we ate a wonderful family meal, laughed, and had so much fun together. We then cleaned up all together and then sat down to watch one of our favorite shows, The Bachelor.
It was the most perfect Valentines Day I have had thus far. One day, I will fall in love with an amazing man and he will sweep me off my feet and spoil me on Valentines Day (hopefully), but until that day, I know I have amazing friends and family to make me feel so loved. I've never felt so special. I love my roommates!
